Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refunds & Cancellation

Last updated: August 2026

We'd rather you tell us something's wrong than quietly churn. Here's exactly how refunds and cancellations work — no hidden conditions.

1. Free plan

CertiLayer's Free plan requires no payment method and carries no billing obligation — there is nothing to refund. You can use it indefinitely within its session limits.

2. 14-day refund window

If you're on a paid plan (Starter, Growth, or Scale) and it's been fewer than 14 days since your first payment on that subscription, you can request a full refund by emailing [email protected] with your account email. We process these without asking why.

This 14-day window applies once per account, to your first paid subscription. It does not reset with plan upgrades, downgrades, or renewals.

3. After the 14-day window

Payments for billing periods more than 14 days old are non-refundable, including partial months. You can still cancel at any time — see the cancellation terms below — but we don't prorate or refund the remainder of an already-paid period.

4. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel anytime from Dashboard → Settings → Plans, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access to your plan's features and limits until then, and your account automatically moves to the Free plan afterward.

We don't charge cancellation fees, and there's no minimum commitment period beyond the billing cycle you're currently in (monthly or annual).

5. Annual plans

Annual billing is offered at a discount in exchange for a 12-month commitment. The 14-day refund window in Section 2 still applies in full. After that window, annual payments are non-refundable, but you can still cancel to stop future renewals — your plan simply runs until the paid term ends.

6. Failed or disputed payments

Billing is processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. If a payment fails, Paddle will retry automatically and notify you; your plan may be downgraded to Free if payment isn't resolved within the retry window. If you dispute a charge directly with your bank instead of contacting us first, your account may be suspended pending resolution — we'd rather you email [email protected] first, since most billing issues are resolved same-day.

7. Enterprise agreements

Enterprise plans are governed by their individually negotiated contract, which takes precedence over this policy for refund and cancellation terms. Contact your account contact or [email protected] for specifics.

Questions about a specific charge? Email [email protected] with your account email and we'll get back to you — usually same-day.
